May 20, 200817 yr 97 OBW 130,000 miles. I already know what this means but somebody tell me it isn't so. I want to do the job myself but am moving to Fort Collins Colorado in six weeks and things are hectic around the house. I don't have the time right now. How long can I baby this thing - will it make it six weeks then trailer it to Colorado?

May 21, 200817 yr Pull your thermostat out to keep the pressure from building. Try to keep your rpm's below 3000 and you could last a long time. Worked well for me. Good luck.

Except it will trash your gas mileage. Just get it fixed. The longer you drive the car like this, the higher the possability of ruining the engine, especially if you want to go on a trip. nipper
May 21, 200817 yr Author Well I agree with getting it fixed, I just have to make the time. I put a new radcap on it just for kicks but I think I can smell exhaust in the overflow tank. I drove it with the AC on in traffic and it did not overheat so I think the leak is still small. Best place for a new gasket set?? 1stsubaruparts.com?
