July 18, 200817 yr I must have missed this memo, but when did Subaru stop putting the H6 in the Outback, and when did Subaru stop building L L Bean editions?
July 19, 200817 yr H6 (3.0L)/LL Bean are/were still available for MY 2008. For 2009, the 3.0 R Limited is the 3.0L version that replaces the LL Bean. See: http://www.cars101.com/subaru/outback/outback2009.html
July 19, 200817 yr LL Bean and Subaru have chosen not to renew their partnership, and have parted ways, final as of...like a month ago. I actually had an '09 Forester come in driven by a Subaru rep of some sort who had me take off the exterior LL Bean badge because of the separation (Forester was a Manufacturer plate car, official Subaru promo of some sort)...now it's hanging on my tool box  there still will be an H6 model, called something else...Limited or smoething.
July 20, 200817 yr Yep the LL Bean deal went dead around June. That is when the Foresters started arriving with weather packages that resembled what you got in the Bean. My sister actually got one of the first Bean Foresters to roll into the area back in April. She actually does not like the "corporate ad" (her words) LLBean badge but it was the only way to get a 09 Forester in April that had heated seats. I told her to keep the badge on there and maybe it will add a few dollars to resale years down the road.
July 20, 200817 yr Author But apparently you can no longer get the H-6 in the Outback, if the Subaru website is to be believed, although the unofficial Subaru site "cars101" claims that it is available.
July 21, 200817 yr So does this mean that I can no longer purchase Subaru memorabilia of the LL Bean web page? I hope so cause they are sorry, only offer one size in the shirt that I want. This past weekend I was at the Honduh dealership getting the wife's car serviced. I noticed that their parts department carried all kinds of Honda shirts but I cannot get crap from my local dealer except referred to the LL Bean site. I checked and their Subaru section is off their website.
July 23, 200817 yr Author This thread should have been labeled '2009' models; my mistake. But I went to the dealer today and picked up a 2009 Outback brochure; it clearly shows the H6 3.0 being available for the 2009 Outback wagon. I showed the dealer, on his computer, the official Subaru website which is silent as to that option; he was surprised, and had no explanation.
