August 5, 200817 yr I have a 94 legacy and would like to put a newer stock subaru cd/radio in it. Has anyone done this and if so can you let me know about it thanks!!
August 5, 200817 yr Yeah I believe it will work. I'm not sure if the plugs are the same, but you can probably find a harness online to replace the newer stock harness and merge it with one of the adapter harnesses for the 94 Legacy. Or you could maybe find a harness at a junkyard and snip it out.
August 5, 200817 yr lmdew would be the guy to ask. He traded me a cassette deck with weather band out of a 99 outback for my single disc CD out of my 02 Imp OS. Same plugs, same size, no modification needed.
August 5, 200817 yr if it's the single DIN style then it should work... I've swapped from '00 to '98 to '88 and back all using the same stock subaru harness... but if it's one of the new fancy contoured stereos then probably not... --Spiffy
August 6, 200817 yr I made an adapter harness for the 93-94 legacy that allows you to put any 95+ radio in the car. http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?t=28370
