August 21, 200817 yr well i jsut rescued a 86 gl wagon with dual range, the previous owner said she was driving and heard a pop sound then the car stopped running, i checked the timing belts but i have yet to check the disty for that screw, what are some other things i could check that could have possible put the wagon into a coma? Also i read that the 85-86 wagons had an adjustable suspension? how and where can a person play with these settings?
August 21, 200817 yr How did you check the belts? Not only can they break, but they can strip the teeth off and appear to still be intact till you try to rotate it over. Air. Fuel. Spark. You are missing one at the proper time. Suspension adjustments are on the struts if they are original. Lower perch adjustment nuts on the front, and a three-position notch arrangement on the rear coil-over-shock tubes. GD
August 21, 200817 yr That little toothed idler will have the bering go out and strip all the teeth off the belt. Everything will look perfect if you just give it a glance. Jeff
