I'm curious about this "plastic ring " I hear so much about. (scoobyclimbs is missing one as well on his hatch)

My wagon had the typical "wagon wheels" on it when I got it.

Had the little "volcano" aluminum center caps with the logo in the middle.

Looked to be spring steel teeth that held it in the center hole on the rim.

But there was no plastic to be found anywhere on those wheels except the logo sticker in the middle. The center cap snapped right into the steel.

Must be a year change? A hatch thing?

You can bend out the tabs on the center caps and make them fit without the rings. But the rings are cheap - just order a set at the dealer. They are like $5 each.

They get old, yellow, and brittle and end up falling out when someone removes a cap - they they just don't get replaced. They are there to protect the white paint on the rims, and center the caps. They are not used on the plain steel rims, only on the white wagon wheels.
