Read test codes

Featured Replies

Hello,

I know that this info is somewhere on this board, but I can't find it. Could someone tell me how to use the test connecters to read the light on the ECU? This is for an '88 SPFI 1.8L I know that they are located in the engine compartment.

Thanks! Tom

Thank You, Turbone! Sorry for the late reply, but I truly appreciate the help. Does anyone know which connectors are which? By this I mean, what function do the green connectors perform and what do the whites do? Which are the "read" and which are the "test"? Thanks in advance!

Start the car, if the CEL is on, no need to hook up any connectors. Look down and read the codes.

If the CEL is off when running, hook up the white connectors. This is to read past codes.

Green connectors are the test connectors. Refer to an FSM for the full test procedure.

sorry to hijack but does anyone in the Portland area have a OBD1 reader that I could use on my '92 Loyale?
