December 12, 200817 yr this for an 86 EA application..just wondering if a carb with 4 prong connector can be made to work on a car with the 3 prong set-up..obviously I don't know what the other (4th) wire is for
December 12, 200817 yr Yes. Hi Peter, When I did this, I just swapped them out. Took all that stuff off an automatic carb and replaced it with the stuff off a manual trans carb. It's been a while, but I have 4 carbs I can look at tommorrow to refresh my memory if you need it. Doug Edited December 13, 200817 yr by Quidam Update.
December 12, 200817 yr Hey there, I recently had to replace my Carb. on an 86 GL. If I remember right, the only difference was the ground wire. Someone can correct me, if I'm wrong. I think it used the metal body in the 3 wire version, the 4th wire was a ground wire.? I think....I can look after I get mine back from the shop, had a lifter problem, and need to check the valves. Also, geting a code 73 & 52 from the trouble light. Getting it looked at by a shop that only deals in Subies. Good luck! Peace, Yuba49r
