December 12, 200817 yr Subaru's extended 100k head gasket warranty applies to 2000-2002 MY vehicles. Does anyone know if this applies to used vehicles as well? I'm looking at 2000+ Legacy/Outbacks and am wondering if they're still covered under 100k even if sold/not original owner? I thought I recall others having this done?

I thought I recall others having this done? generally warrantys are not people specific but car specific. if you have the VIN you can call the dealer service and give it to them and see if it's something that would be covered. i haven't dealt with subaru specifically for warranty stuff but i just had a cat replaced under warranty at a mazda dealer. the car didn't have plates, it wasn't registered to me and hell the car was pretty damn rough, but they replaced the cat free of charge and didn't ask anything about the car. just a name and number from me so they could call me when it was done
December 12, 200817 yr Yes it applies to used subarus too. Just dont go into the delaership or deal with subaru with flames shooting out of your ears. Kill them with kindness at first and usually you can get it done. I have assisted people in getting partial coverage up to 105,000 miles, but thats pushing it. nipper
December 13, 200817 yr My 02 OBS is at 99,600. With my luck, the HG will fail at 100,001 miles. nah, 106,001 miles, then i cant help ya nipper
