December 19, 200817 yr So i have some free time and extra money so i want to build a kick rump roast off road engine to put in my 83 wagon. I will post pictures all the way through the build and was hoping for some input, tips, ideas ect...... I will start with a ea81 engine from b&r junkyard, they want 275.00 delivered to my door for a running ea81. I have all the supplies to make the carbon fiber manifold and after i get the heads off and cam out i will be sending them to delta cams to get the head work and cam work done. delta says i should not go 0.40 on the heads, but i want too !! what do you think.... any input on any other upgrades i can do. thanks ! Dave in Portland
December 19, 200817 yr I think if you look around Portland, you will find an EA81 for less than $275. Unless B&R offers a warranty on the engine, you'd be better off checking the other yards on Columbia. If Delta says don't .040 over, then I'd take their advice.

Dave in Portland I think you need to listen to the people at Delta. They have more experience building EA81's then you think.
