sounds good. do you know a good Subaru guru near us that can remove the 2.5 heads and manifold on my 2.2 engine and install new heads and manifold. oh and while they are at it maybe install the 2.2 in my brat i have the harness and adapter plate.heck they can even put my 4 speed manual transmission and rear diff in also .... i don't know anything about engine building and less about how to wire up the 2.2. harness , the sooner i can get this done the sooner i can get the ea81 engine and Weber to you ! i was thinking about calling fixmysuby.com or another local shop but don't know if they do that kind of work. thermal

well the exhaust ports have 2 holes in them so i think its a duel port.?

Numbchux thanks for the reply. i should have researched the purchase a bit more before dropping 700 on the engine........ i have no idea what harness i have that came with the engine but is their a way to make it work ? do i need to sell the engine and buy another one ? darn it i did it again and i thought i scored but it looks like i messed up big time. dam dam dam

Turbone that will be cool as i plan on doing the swap around the same time. i ordered the adapter kit from sjr and have the engine and 4 speed tranny and rear diff so far. i sent the harness to numbchuck so i hope by this winter i have everyting i need for the swap.

i am getting ready to do the 2.2 swap in my 83 brat when my friend saw that the manifold looks different then his. the engine was just bought off craigslist and is a out of a 1999 Subaru Impreza and is a phase 2 2.2 with what we discovered has 2.5 heads and manifold . my question is has anyone heard of this being done ? if so did it work or add any horsepower ? thanks .. thermal

i just picked up a 1999 Subaru EJ22 engine and manual 5 speed transmission. This set-up came out of a 1999 Impreza sedan with 100,000 miles, The package includes everything to do a complete engine swap i hope !! engine, transmission, complete wiring harness and ECU (ECM). Includes intake, throttle body, wiring, ignition, AC compressor, Alternator, Power steering pump and a ACT Streetlite lightweight racing flywheel so where do i start ? can i use The 1999 transmission ? it is AWD 5speed with 3.9 final drive, and includes rear drive shaft (prop shaft). . if not what tranny can i use ? will this engine work in a brat ? its a 1999 Impreza sedan ej22 anyone in Portland looking for some $ide work that could help out with the install or and the wiring ? i thought their was someone that does the harness work on the board do i use the ACT Streetlite lightweight racing flywheel out of the 1999 doner or will my centerforce stage 2 clutch work out of my ea81 ? so many questions !!!! Help
