Door ping

Featured Replies

Anyone know what fuse i need to pull to get my doors to stop pinging when they are open? And is fuse also for a critical system, so you MUST keep the fuse in lol. (88' gl wagon):brow:

Well... for `88 GL you most Post under the "Older Gen of Subarus" Forums... but Let me Try to Help you.

First of All, you Must Know that the Chimes will Sound when you Open the Door, ONLY if you Leave the Key on the ignition Switch... Or your ignition Switch Has some Problem with the Position Sensor... Maybe you`re Pullin` the Key Before it Reaches the Off Position, Maybe it just got some dirt which is keepin` the sensor as if there is Still the Key, without key...

I Suggest to Check this First, then if you Still want to Silence that Chimes, I Suggest to Remove the Plug that sends their Signal, it is Located at the ignition Switch itself.

To do that, you need to Remove the Steering`s Plastic Covers...

Good Luck! :burnout:

if you are referring to an ea82, the chime is located just to the right of the stereo. you will see a tine little "vent" on the dash below the fan switch, and that is where the chime is. it plugs into a pink connector. you can get to it by dropping the glovebox door
