Best Legacy

Featured Replies

What do you think is the best model Legacy in the past 8 years ? Engine, trim, model year? What is the best model for doing a little modifying and tuning (nothing major, just stage-1 type of upgrades)

Just gathering some information for future actions.

thanks

If you're into tuning and stuff, go with a turbo model - forester or WRX

Personally I like the look of the Gen. 4 Legacys (05-up)...Ive seen quite a few like 05-06 Legacy GT's with upgrades...there quick and stylish.....plus ive noticed alot of aftermarket manufacturers have started selling parts for them as well as the Forester XT's....(just off the top of my head ive seen the LGT with FMIC's, CAI's, Full exhausts) from what im starting to see there are just as many aftermarket parts for them as there are for the WRX....:)

Outback Sedan in my opinion. You should see the ground clearance these things have.

I got an 05 last month. I had a '90 Leg and a '98 OB. I like the '05 because it's closer to the basics that made the first gen work so well. It does not have all the plastic excess that the '00-'04 Legacy/OB's were prone too. It also has more room to work under the hood than my '98 OB did. I can't figure out why they needed to use a different oil filter and hide the fuel filter though. We'll see if it can go to 200k without any problems unlike the '98-'02's.
