feul pump wiring

Featured Replies

'86 GL Wagon 4x4 D/R . Two wires on the fuel pump. Solid black and Black with a white stripe. Which is the Ground? I am at work so I dont have access to the car or my fluke. Can somebody with a wiring diagram clue me in?

Thanks

I am sorry Flow, I checked all my FSMs close to your year (84,85,86) and the all say there is a black wire (to ground) and a light green with red tracer wire from the rev sensor.

I'm sorry, hopefully someone else has a manual with your colors.

Shameless bump none the less.

the one with the white stripe is power. the solid black one can be grounded to the body.

I have my harness apart and am wiring the buggy with it.

On mine the ground wire is black with some brown rings.

Try following both wires to the main harness. Once at the main harness one of them should be coupled to another wire of the same color. These wires should couple with others of the same, they ground to the chassis.

Good luck,

Glenn,

82 Hatch, just wired the fuel pump.

01 Forester, factory wired fuel pump.

you can wire the pump tp a toggle if you wish. just be sure to turn it off when u turn the car off.

you can also wire the pump tp the positive terminal on the coil, so the pump comes on with the key.
