January 28, 200917 yr So I got the car jacked up, sitting in neutral running. And the wheels are turning . WTF??? It's in neutral so what gives? Did a quick search and found pretty much every problem but mine. If I push the clutch in slightly, they stop turning. Tried adjusting the clutch cable, maybe I didn't adjust it enough?
January 28, 200917 yr The gear oil is thick. There is zero resistance. the movement you are seeing is not real force, just the thick fluid (like molases) tranmitting force. Its not unusual. nipper
January 28, 200917 yr Author Oooooohhh... ok I thought that because it was in neutral it was COMPLETELY disengaged but I guess I was wrong. Thanks for clearing that up!! OK another question. I noticed that the front left wheel wasn't turning (should have mentioned that in first post), only the right front was. So once the car was off I grabbed the left front to turn it and it feels difficult to turn. I JUST put a new axle in on this side, does it take time for the axle to grease itself internally? Or maybe my brakes are dragging?
