thecarman Posted February 11, 2009 Share Posted February 11, 2009 The Haynes manual says I need to pull the starter off of my EA82T before pulling the engine. Is that correct? I thought since the starter is bolted to the trans, and not contacting the flywheel when not in the process of starting, I could just leave it on there. Do I really need to pull it? Thanks! chef_tim Posted February 11, 2009 Share Posted February 11, 2009 IIRC one of the bolts goes all the way through and that one needs to come out. Not htat it wouldn't help, I'm just saying in well over a hundred Subaru Motor pulls I've never needed to remove one.
