February 23, 200917 yr Author Good thinking, never would have posted on CL. Also remembered that one of my co-workers dates a Japanese girl and speaks a little too. He helped with a few things, but he can't actually read REAL Japanese characters, just english that has been written in Japanese, so the hunt is still on.
February 23, 200917 yr if you have a mac with system 10.5.6, then use the widget "translate" and just type it in... works for me so far (aka google is your friend)

Naw, OS X also has an International System Preference that lets you select different input methods and pallets to use so you can type in Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Whateverelseanese and so on. The real problem is that, without knowing Japanese, he'll have trouble translating the thousands of Kanji, Katakana and Hirigana characters into Romanji, so that he can then input them using his English character based keyboard. February 25, 200917 yr Chinatown, for Japanese translation? The characters look nothing alike between Asian languages, i can't imagine a Chinese dood being able to decipher Japanese.
