95 Auto into a 96 Stick ??

Featured Replies

You can do anything, the question is it worth the trouble.

Most swaps here are going the other way, Auto to a Manual.

You'd need at least the following

Starter

Transmission

Flex Plate and bolts

Trans Cross Member

Trans Drive Shaft

Rear Diff is the gear ratios are different

Break Box

Trans ECU

Associated Wiring

This is a large project, it would be best accomplished with a complete doner car to get all the parts

If you mean a motor from an auto into a car with a manual than yes. Check for egr compatiblity. I think the 95 auto's had egr and 96 manual's did also. Although that's not hard and fast. I have a 95 manual without a egr and 2 96autos with egrs. Also have a 97 manual with egr. So check the egr.

+1^... I never understood Subarus intentions when it came to the Gen. 2 EGR systems( as to which vehicles had them and which didnt)....I have a 96' Legacy manual w/o EGR...
