Rear (transaxle) Mount

Featured Replies

I hit a deep pothole a couple months ago and really tweeked the front end.

It is hard to get it to shift into 4th and when I do it won't stay there, not nearly as bad in third, can hold it in place. Today was the first chance I had to look at it. Shift rods, bushings look ok. I almost think it could be the rear mount. The trans could be hanging low and not allowing the shifter enough throw. I cralled under and it looks like there is a gap between the mount and the wings bolted to the trans. Sound like I'm on the right track? First Legacy wagon '96.

TIA,

Jay

Check all the motor mounts, but yes it sounds like yout tranny mount is not happy.
