Hi all,

 

I just found a FSM for 97 OBS. I looked through it and the stuff seems to be pretty similar to my 98. So I'm wondering if there are anything I need to be leery of?

 

They only thing that came to mind is the Eng turned into interference around that year and the timing belt tensioner changed into one-piece.

 

Anything else?

the engine went to interference in 97, and I believe they changed the design of the heads in 98. But the rest is pretty much the same

iimc the interior also changed(dash board and door panels from Forester) dont remember about the seats

It changed a little but not much, The dash had a new cubby on top in the 98 and the radio changed a little, and there was a digital odometer in the 98, but it was a lot alike. The seats still had the weird '70's/safari look to them

So as far as mechanical wise they're pretty much same huh?

yup! Like I said. I think the heads changed in 98, but other than that, everything else mechanically is the same
