RX stuttering under WOT

Featured Replies

Ok so I've already changed the plugs, gapped to .040, and it's still stuttering,

It's the EA82T In first it pulls hard, 2nd it kinda starts to stutter, 3rd, 4th, and 5th it stutters bad.

What causes it to stutter? Would wires, and cap and rotor possibly fix that?

No codes present? Check the simple stuff first. Your cap + rotor, plug wires, and timing could cause it. I dont know if the turbo units have the same test connector setup as the SPFI, but if it is you want to make sure that they are unplugged. Fuel filter, fuel pump/pressure, throttle position sensor output.

Get new tune up stuff, make sure you only use NGK plugs.

Then check the timing. Make sure before you check, to connect the green plug under the dash/steering column. Then disconnect when done.

Timing should be 25deg/800rpm.

If you bought this from the guy with the 3 rx turbos, call him back and and ask him whats wrong with it, he will know thats probably why he sold it.... could save you alot of time....
