Does anyone have the Federal Mogul part number for the Rear wheel bearings for EA82 and also for EA81 4wd vehicles? Im a little confused because my parts guy seems to have given me the wrong parts, and that really does not happen that often. Im lookin at an 85 DL rear subframe with the 2 bearings instead of the 1 like was mentioned, and any info that can help clear my confusion would help. Thanks!

On a 4wd EA81 and EA82 rear end, there are 2 wheel bearings on each side for a total of 4. They are both tapered roller bearings and they are all the same size. In between the bearings there is a spacer that doubles as the bearing races. From what I remember most parts stores sell them as a bearing kit that consists of the 2 bearings the spacer/race and the seals. I've included a couple of pictures, I hope this helps.

Ok that does help a bit, the parts my guy gave me are not right. he gave me 4 bearings, but 2 of them are smaller than the others. Im gonna check out those pictures you have, they will help a lot.

Edit: Upon further thinking and looking at those pics, it looks like he gave me 2wd wheel bearings, where the outer bearing is smaller than the inner. Is this possible? Also, there is supposed to be an outer and an inner seal right?

It dose sound like he gave you the 2wd bearings. Yes you will need and inner and outer seal. You will also need a special tool to loosen the lock nut.

Yeah Im aware of the tool I need, I think Im gonna whip one out on the Mill at work this week or something... I gotta get the right bearings first though :-\

There are two types of 4WD rear wheel bearings. There's a three-peice and a single piece unit - one was superceeded by the other in the mid 80's. It does sound like you were given the 2WD bearings.
