OK never mind I just ordered the correct size kit and Im going to take back the one that I bought.

In the mean time what is the size of hole that I need to drill? Or could I tap right into the preexisting striped threads?

The size of the hole will depend on the design of the kit. You will have to get the specs from the kit to know for sure.

The kit should come with the correct size drill bit

Okay, if not I have a whole metal shop with hundreds of drill bits so it should be okay, I hope.

I just don't want my apartments getting mad because the car has been parked in a visitor spot for so long!
