Hello, I just bought a used 1997 two door Impreza L. The cruise control does not work. It has the cruise switch onthe dash and control lever on the wheel BUT no extra cable or cruise control motor under the hood????? Is it somewhere else?

Should be a black thing, like a brake booster, on the passenger side strut tower. No?

Check the brake and clutch switches. I've had a few that the bumper on the bracket comes out and then the switch goes right through the hole.

 

The cruise unit on the Impreza is right below the AC Dryer. If you have 2 cables going to the throttle body, its there.

It only has one cable to the throttle body.
