January 25, 200422 yr Found it, retightened the bolt, sliding it further, and it is gone. Wierd. I suppose I should not be surprised that hoses degrade after a while. Is it the mileage or the age that kills them? In either case, this Loyale is 12 years old and has 195,000 miles on these hoses.
January 25, 200422 yr I would keep a spare of all the major hoses in the back, along with 1~2 gallons of coolant...or just replace all the hoses now...thats what I would do.
January 25, 200422 yr You should be on your 5th set of hoses by now!! Do em all. Very cheap insurance in the long run. Maybe consider the rad too. These cars can't take the heat, so don't chance it. good luck, John
January 25, 200422 yr Author Good point! Radiator hoses are a regular maintenance item, I've been made aware of that!
February 4, 200422 yr Author Yes, I did a coolant flush this summer - on all my vehicles. Now I get an intermittent leak, cannot figure out where it is coming from. Today got it on the ramps and it is not there anymore. Will have to wait until it leaks again and look. Yes, I will replace radiator hoses. 191K miles is a lot of mileage and they are original.
