99 forester ej25 cylinder count

Featured Replies

hi,

i'm trying to find out what's the order of the cylinders, which one is cylinder nr 1 ,2 3 and 4. i'm getting a missfire on the nr 3 but i don't know which one is it?

thanks a lot!

When looking at the engine, #1 is the front on on the left or the passenger's side. #3 is right behind #1. 2 and 4 are on the driver's side with #2 being the most forward of the two. There should be numbers on the ignition coil where the spark plug wires end.

misfire generally caused by a bad spark plug or plug wire, in case you don't already know this.

..i have replaced the sparkplugs couple of months ago...and the car just started to have this problem last week or soo...strange is that it's starting nice and does idle smooth , it happens only when accelerating some time ..and i can feel the car hesitating... i'll double check the sparkplug and i want to change the wires between 3 and 1 and see if that will change the missfire cylinder nr...

ok...i have interchange the sparkplugs wires between cyl 1 and 3 and it looks like the problem is gone... no more missfire and i can step on the gas again without any engine hesitation ...

ps the ingnition coil has the cyl nr on it and also the wires :) should have checked before asking :) thanks a lot anyways !!:)
