Suabru 2.5 dohc head gaskets

Featured Replies

I just replaced the head gaskets. Now the motor is back in and it will not run. It will start and idel for a few seconds but then die. I can keep it running for about 5 seconds if I keep on the gas, but it ultimately dies. Any ideas? I reset the security system so I dont think that is the problem. What Am I missing?

Idle air control valve hose not hooked completely to the intake tube? That hose is about 1" in diameter and goes from a thing near the throttle body and toward the passenger side of the car. It tucks down under the intake tube and can look hooked up when it isn't.

You were right , it was that vacumm hose that goes from the air box to the Idle control valve. I should not have missed it. I guess I drank to much beer whill putting the motor back in?

Now I am having another problem. It is idleing poorly, but runs good at high RPM's. The check engion light is also on. Do I need to reset theECU or something? Should I take it to a shop to have it scanned?

Hi Brent--welcome aboard. You'll get more response to your questions if you post them in the "New Generation" forum rather than here in "Shop Talk."

Aloha,

Nick
