Does anyone have any pics of grill guards theyve built? Im trying to figure out how/where they mount for a 85 wagon.

Not for a suby yet. I made one for my VW golf and am making one for my mitsubishi truck now. Not sure if the way I'm mounting them will transfer to the subaru though (which I haven't even figured out for the truck yet... involves the new bumper and winch mount at the same time, so it'll probably just mount to the bumper somehow)

Bumpers replacement guards are mounted to the bumper mounts.

 

A-bar style guards are mounted to the engine cross-member mounting points on the frame rail as well as the bottom of the bumper (so also the bumper mounts in a way).

Thanks, that gives me a better idea on how to make one, or maybe just build a complete bumper! Jeff
