January 26, 200422 yr How hard is it to change the clutch cable? Mine just snapped yesterday. I looked in the FSM, and it doesn't look too bad, but I'm just wondering if there are any problems I might run into. I'm going to be doing the job tonight, so any help would be appreciated. UPDATE: Taking the old cable out was easy, maybe 15 mins. It had snapped right where it goes through the firewall. Anyways, the new cable they gave me at the parts store was the wrong one (GRRRR!). It'll be a couple more days before they get the right one in stock.
January 26, 200422 yr getting the cable out at the pedle is the hardest part. i think being your first time it should take you about 1-2 hours. adjusting it is easy though.
January 26, 200422 yr Make sure when rerouting the new cable that you run it under the steering shaft. Many times it gets run over the top and wears out prematurely. Other than that it is pretty basic. Good luck.
