weber tuning

I just installed my new weber on my '85 wagon and it's not running right. When i start it, it will rev up to 2500 rpm and then die in about 5 seconds. what did i do wrong?

there is a return spring and the throttle moves freely

 

is there a really good write up on the process?

If you play with the gas will it stay running? Honestly something sounds more out of wack then just throttle linkage. Have you also checked for vacuum leaks? My check list would be:

 

Choke...adjusted?

Vacuum leaks

Something plugged up inside the carb

 

Without knowing more thats all i got for you.

one eye is headed over sometime today, so hopefully he can get this figured out.

 

There shouldn't be anything wrong with it, it was professionally rebuilt by a carburetor guru. It might be something as silly as a vacuum hose not plugged.

The adaptor plate is cracked..............................I think that is the problem
