July 24, 200916 yr I just installed my new weber on my '85 wagon and it's not running right. When i start it, it will rev up to 2500 rpm and then die in about 5 seconds. what did i do wrong?
July 24, 200916 yr do you have a return spring on the throttle? if you swapped on the soob throttle bracket, you could have pulled it too tight and moved the shaft....
July 24, 200916 yr Author there is a return spring and the throttle moves freely is there a really good write up on the process? these are the ones i found but didn't help http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=74206 http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=49931 this one would have, but i cant see the pictures Edited July 24, 200916 yr by Markus56
July 24, 200916 yr If you play with the gas will it stay running? Honestly something sounds more out of wack then just throttle linkage. Have you also checked for vacuum leaks? My check list would be: Choke...adjusted? Vacuum leaks Something plugged up inside the carb Without knowing more thats all i got for you.
July 24, 200916 yr Author one eye is headed over sometime today, so hopefully he can get this figured out. There shouldn't be anything wrong with it, it was professionally rebuilt by a carburetor guru. It might be something as silly as a vacuum hose not plugged.
July 25, 200916 yr The adaptor plate is cracked..............................I think that is the problem Jeff
