88 GL wagon..need idler pulley, worth buying?

Featured Replies

looking to buy this 88 GL wagon, but the guy says the AC isn't working because the idler pulley needs replaced because the back belt is working.

How big of a job is this?

Thanks

an AC idler pulley. well, the bracket will be bolted to the block with like 2 bolts.

pretty cake.

make sure its the AC idler pulley he is telling about, not the Tbelt idler pulley..

Ok, what if it's the Tbelt idler Pulley?

You'll get a lot more response if you post this question in the Old Gen forum.

the idler is adjustable... does the belt have the right tension on it?

the pulley bearing is less than $20 from Rock Auto, taking the bracket/pulley off and switching the bearing out is no big deal

this really isn't a sale killing item if everything else is good and the price is right
