RockAuto Cam and Crank Seals

Featured Replies

I've purchased "Subaru" cam and crank seals several times from RockAuto, but now they do not list them.

I've always tried to stay with Subaru parts for these seals, but..

Anyone using another brand (Gates, Timkin....)with good success?

I seem to remove a lot that are black, newer, and leaking.

I just get them at the dealer. They are still under 10 bucks each. They are an item I've not chanced using something other than OEM.

If someone has used something else with long term success I'd love to hear about it - especially if the price is significantly different.

I try and stick with Subaru as well, never had a problem.

I've had problem with NAPA (not sure which) and Fel-Pro seals seating in EA engines. Granted I've also used plenty of Fel-pro seals in the past as well, but not worth the hassle for a few dollars any more.

I've gotten OEM seals from Rock auto and thepartsbin.com before as well, but I haven't ordered from either in a long time. I get them from the dealer now.

I've always had good luck with Gates brand belts and hoses. The Fel-Pro stuff is kinda hit or miss. Depends on the application.
