EA82 wont start after filter getting hit by hose

Featured Replies

i had the engine running for about 10 minutes as i was refilling the radiator with water (leak) and i got some on the cone filter im using. i came back an hour later and it cranks but wont start. when i give it gas i get what sounds like a quiet backfire sound. is there just a little water in the intake or is this something serious? please dont say hydrolock.

UPDATE: i have opened the throttle to take a peak and it does look moist inside the intake manifold. the noise occurs when i hit the gas. it sort of sounds like a and automatic baseball pitching machine.

check and make sure the plug wires arent wet. That could cause jumping spark and no start

your wet element filter may not be letting any air through wet. (not an expert here just the first thing I thought... pull it off.
