Where to Purchase Subaru Parts on the Web?
Posted 28 August 2003 - 07:40 PM
Could somebody expand/clarify the abbreviation OEM?

1stsubaru is a sube dealer with good discount and reputation. ExpressAuto is an "aftermarket" parts source.
OEM: something like original equipment parts; I'm not sure how it got to M but the term refers to parts from the original manufacturer of the vehicle.

Brakes are a good one. You can buy "Subaru" OEM pads (made by some selected vendor of theirs or possibly themselves) or you can buy other pads from your local auto parts store that may be made by someone else. Just to confuse matters, it is even possible that the parts (OEM and aftermarket) are made by the same company, but may be manufactured to different specs. (Eg, pads for Subaru, or pads to fit Subaru as spec'd by Autozone/Pep Boys/Whoever under their house brand name.)
Hopefully I haven't confused you! :-\

I really like your website. I was going to order a 6 pack of oil filters for my Baja, but the shipping came back as $19 for my zip.
Other places were only charging $7 for S&H or less.
Anyway, other than that, it looks great. Hopefully I can buy some accessories in the future.
