baccaruda Posted February 11, 2006 Share Posted February 11, 2006 When swapping an EJ22 into either an EA81 or an EA82, does either style of EJ motor mount happen to fit better than the other? idosubaru Posted February 12, 2006 Share Posted February 12, 2006 what? an EJ motor will bolt right up to an EA crossmember with no modification? that's crazy talk, i never new that but i have a couple EJ22's lying around. i wonder what kind of gas mileage the EJ22 is capable of with an EA transmission. i know my impreza gets crap for mileage compared to the older EA vehicles. my 6 cylinder XT6 with gets better mileage than my EJ22, both with AWD auto's. I had read first that it is necessary with an EA81 vehicle, and then I read that the same is necessary for an EA82 vehicle. But you guys are working with EJ20s, not EJ22s. Well, I have a 5-lug swap on my wagon, and I am not happy with the alignment of one of the control arm bushings (relative to the holes after I enlarged them), so I will be grabbing another crossmember from the JY by this weekend.
