Subieguy Posted January 1, 2007 Share Posted January 1, 2007 This happened to me with my 1st Brat. I had to take both the drivers side headlights out and reach in there and unlatch the hood by hand. Just had to pull where the cable used to be. Kind of a lot of trouble but I did not see any other way. Maybe somebody else has a better way of doing this. biffanyus Posted January 1, 2007 Share Posted January 1, 2007 I used a bass guitar string on mine when that happen. I was able to go thru the grill and thru the latch and then out of the grill again. Tied the string together and yanked on it to pop it loose. Keep the string in there as my pop open mechanism till I replaced the cable. Just a thought if you play guitar or no someone who does. moosens Posted January 1, 2007 Share Posted January 1, 2007 I got mine with a long screwdriver.was able to move the latch and pop it open. Then I rigged up a wire similar to the bass string method.For now I open my hood from in front og the grill where my homemade cable comes out of the grill.
