My friend wanted to know if you could take the front axels out of his 95 Legacy and drive it around with RWD?

Tomorrow I will be trying to get my car back together in one day. But first I have to go to a junk yard a hour away to get struts. There is nothing on my car except the doors and body parts. All of the interior is out, engine, trans, rearend, and whatever else you can think of. Its really not that much stuff to put back together, but I have to do it by myself. Parts have to go back on the engine too.

Will a WRX motor fit into an 89 GL-10 wagon. If so what about the drive drain, and other stuff like the comp.

Thanks for all the info. I think I am going to look at the GL today. If its manual I will probably get the whole car, if not I just want the struts.

What is the difference between the GL wagon and the GL-10 wagon.

I am not sure what drivetrain the gl has. I found it in a junk yard on the internet. I wanted to see if it was worth looking at it for the Trans(if it is manual), rear diff, drive shaft, and struts. If the trans is manual and will fit in my car I wanted to just get the whole other car.

My GL-10 is a 4spd auto.

Will the drive trane out of a 89' GL fit in a 89' GL-10? And what about the struts?

Okay I see now. Will any of the trans work?(Selective 4WD d/r, Full-time d/r, or the push button) And what will i need to do it? I would have to get the parts off of here because no junkyards around here have any subarus.

Forgot to put some stuff: 1989 GL-10 AWD Turbo Wagon I want a 5 speed d/r with the push button 4WD.

Can anyone give me a list of parts to swap a automatic transmission out for a 5 Speed transmission? And any tips for doing it.

What struts can I replace the stock air struts with on a 89' GL-10? I have to adjust mine with a switch box. That doesn't work very well. I am selling the whole suspension system with extra parts if anyone wants them.

I have a 1989 GL-10 and it i don't have the time to keep fixing it. I wanted to know if I would get more for it if I sold it part by part or just sell it as a car. I have the engine out so I could work on it, but I would rather have something else.

Do i need any specialized tools to take the front halfshalves off and replace the boot? Does the '89 GL-10 have a top speed limiter?

I'm takin the engine out to clean up to replace hoses and seals. What all is involved with swapin the engine to a 5 speed manual???? What sholud i do to the turbo to get more boost?

Can regular struts fit in place of air suspention struts in a '89 GL-10?

I got a 1989 Subaru GL-10 in late March of this year. Since then i've had to replace the two front air struts and put manual switches to make it work. Had to replace flexplate. Put a helicoil in the head. yesterday transmission fluid sparyed all over the road, i just replaced the filter and gasket on the transmission. My brake lights quit working. And other small problems. The car only has about 74,000 miles on it, and was only owned by one person before me.Does anyone else have this much trouble?
