i think you could pull $600-800 for it, but that is also a +/- estimate.
Maybe I can find someone wanting to trade. Dont' care what year Brat. I'd like one with Jumpseats and T-tops, but just mainly want the AWDizzle:banana:

So what can I expect to get out of my '79DL FWD?
ONLY 58K original miles.
The Good:
1) Not too much rust.
2) Engine runs excellent (I drive it about 3 days a week 60 miles round to work)
3) Trans 3 speed auto never loses or leaks, shifts great.
New dual (true) side exhaust with cherry bombs for all show no go approach.(see Pics)
4) Not a rip or tear one in the seats.
5) 3rd eye fabbed into grill.(see pics)
6) Nice CD player and speaker setup (see pics)
7) New drive axles both sides
8) New front rotors and pads
9) New plugs and wires
The Bad:
1) No heat or a/c or fan or plumbing for said.
2) Has to warm up for 2 min or MAY stall if not careful with the gas.
3) Not too much rust
4) I broke the antennea
I really wanna Brat and would like to sell this to fund my Brat project.
See pics below

looks like krylon blue to me
It's actually Bahama Blue from Advance Auto. Sprayed it in my garage.
It's also Krylon Fusion yellow. I need oldskool stripes. How much?

Howdy-
So the guys detailing out my 78 DL soaked the rear parcel tray and more or less turned it from taught and beige to crumbly and black. Anyone got leads on how to repair these or get a new one?
Otherwise, the car is looking like it just rolled out of its shipping container. I'll post pics soon.
Help please...I'm crushed.
BT:rolleyes:
Same thing happened to me. That thing was like eggshells. Well here it is now.
That was during, This is after.

man that is sweet i wish i could hear it. that is close but leaning more towards a single exhaust exit from the back or the car more like the wrx. but still not sure exactally what yet i am going to my car up on jack stands and get pics from front to back and then try to design my own. but what you have from the y cut out is just what i am looking for would like to see more. and would love to hear that. thank you for your time. Ken:burnout:
fell asleep for a few days:lol:
Here is the thread with the link to google video

Mine is a 79, but I got this exhaust done for $200. It is a cut Y pipe. I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, but it sounds like a Harley now. We don't have emissions checks in Ky. anymore now either.
It stays dual though.

That's nothing, definately not worth scraping a car over. They tried to put mine on the lift a Tire Discounters for new tires, and they couldn't. They were afraid go through the floor. Then they jacked each side at a time an went through the rear passenger floor anyway.

beeeeeeeeeeuatiful:slobber:

well now that people decided to hijack my thread, I decided it was time to do a quick update;)
Here's the plans for the drivetrain of the car...
solid lifter EA81 with about 100,000 miles on it, needs a reseal
single range 4wd 4-speed from a '83 DL wagon
stock driveshaft and stock 3.90 rear diff
The tranny will be locked into 4wd the whole time. Also, since I'm going RWD, the front axles won't be there for clearance issues with the steering column. Also be adding a Weber and a few other slight upgrades to the engine, and of course, it will be the Ford dark blue I've always gone with in this car.
Body will consist of my shaved front fenders, shaved doors of the locks, handles, trim and mirrors. Also, the side markers in the back are getting shaved, the front valence which is totally straight thanks to a couple hours and a bodyhammer/dolly, is also getting the front holes for the bumper filled in, the rear is getting a custom roll pan made by yours truely, plus the drip rails on the sides will be getting shaved. I also scored a few extra parts from Tom's Brats like the bracket to bolt the bed carpet to the back of the bed, right next to the tailgate. Also got the tailgate seals as well. The engine compartment is getting everything removed off of the inner fenders and firewall that won't be needed like the jack bracket, battery tray and a few things like that. Battery will be relocated to the bed in a custom battery box that will also incorperate a box for some subs, since I am cutting the back of the cab a certain way. I'm installing a custom tinted lexan slider in the back. I do have a sunroff I plan on putting into it from an EA81 car but that will be later on.
Suspension will be stock in the rear, possibly a slight tub into the bed to accomidate larger tires, front will be my custom EA81 setup with the vented rotors.
I think I have decided that the car is getting painted silver with black and red targa stripes. I'll have to see what it will look like before i do it but I think that would look the best. What do you guys think, eh?
Sounds like it will be badass, throw up some pics of the process. I always like a good before and after.
Sorry about the hijack, I didn't realize who started the thread:drunk:

already cut it with a hacksaw:lol: it looks pretty damn good, but it is a real tight fit
check out the new pics
Very nice, looks cleaner than mine, but I still need to snad up and repaint the "dirty" areas. Your grill is a little different than mine too.
I love the looks I get when driving around in the day. My kids play with the switches while I'm driving. Lots of pointing:grin:

Looks good, you have it set lower than me, which is probably better, cause I had to hack off part of the hood latch on mine for interference purposes. Now when I close the hood, I have to align the little thing you lift up on. oh well.
GOTTA dremel the grill, too tedius for hacksawing. At least heat up a coat hanger super hot, and melt your way through the tight spots. Then sand/file er down nice and smooth.
+1 for zip ties on the bottom:headbang:
-
thanks Rex, i will try to be a conservative cutter on the grill just incase.
i think the cyclops that i have is the earlier model, and yours is the later model. on mine the motor sits really low and the the side, it just is way to big for the area in the brat, even with the a/c rad out. if i hack off the bottom section and use a choke cable, and cable, i think it should work well, and be efficient:D
Hope it works out for ya. I wired mine up, but not exactly correct. I only used three wires of the six. I have a hard time telling when the door is open or closed, caust it doesn't stop till I let off the power. So I pull up behind someone and use the reflection off the car ahead of me:grin:
I found some random switch under the dash that was just hanging there doingnothing, so I'm gonna put it so it will switch on, when the door opens all the way, as to lite up a skull I will hook up inside. So i can tell when the door is all the way open, the skull will lite up inside:headbang:
For Sale...possibly
