Ok, I searched and searched, then searched some more and didn't really find the answer.
I have a '79DL front wheel drive carbed with the dreaded "Dead Spot" whenever i "gun" it or try to start actually moving. Light feathering and It can be dealt with, but worried about safety, cause when cold, it can and has stalled.
checked tank, looks brand new inside. several new fuel filters and finally i have no rust in them (must of been from fuel lines). sprayed carb cleaner (no vac leaks that i could hear) and wd 40'd the whole carb. There is a vac line hanging down on the passenger side footwell, It does suck air and when i plug it, very little to no change. It has 55000 original miles and is in great shape. I want to keep it. Was is the cheapest fix, to most expensive (reliable) fix?
This car will start very easy every time, reguardless of how long i sit it. I will Idle just fine too. Even in nuetral when I gun it, the dead spot arises, but obviously not at bad.
HELP!!!!!!!!
