Damn i got the same prob too with my Ea82, i made a hole on reserve tank cap it would boil and all the coolant would come out, i have changed the head gaskets twice i think the radiator is chocked up and the cooling fan works.

The top pumps fine it leaks from down the rack.

The leak is from inside the boot the top pumps ok i removed the two lines started the car it pumps just fine but it leaks from down the Pinion if im not mistaken, but you got it leaks from the boot cover only on 1 side the hydraulic lines side.

Leone Ea82 the power steering is not working keeps leaking from the rack down, I have changed couple of seals, still leaks all the Atf out. The steering is worse then a manual steering its hard! I think i'm not fixing some seals right or i’m missing something need help anyone have a pic or something of how the seals go basically I need power steering working. Amk.

The tires are all the same and new i think the rear diff has a problem it doesnt leak it has oil though.

That would be great to have the rear the primary drive, ill check what the diff says but i know it has never been changed came with the car like that 92 Leone 4wd Right hand drive. Amk

I forgot to add that when i engage the the 4wd Lo or Hi the rear wheels keep wheel spinning like it doesnt grip the road, when you take a turn it like drifts, why is this? i dont find this normal, and what others ways are there to change it to rear wheel drive apart from removing the front Cv shafts. Amk.

1) I was wondering if its possible to convert an Ea82 which is 4wd (2wd, 4wd-hi, 4wd-lo) to rear wheel drive anyone done it, does it work, how can i do it. 2) If its possible to have rear hand brake instead of front. Thank You.

It’s a Subaru Leone 91 model with an EA82 motor. I would like to change the EA82 to a 96 Wrx Motor EJ20G. The transmission is manual its 4wd selectable that is 4wd high and 4wd low then 2wd, clutch plates size 9” (inch). Do I require an adapter plate? anyone done it before pics e.t.c something to help me out.

I got new Suspension, rims, tires, brake disk and pads. I was thiking of using a Wrx master cylinder wasnt sure if it fits in right. And i will not be racing around all the time ill keep within limits i really want to get rid of my ea82 tired of it. Once again the engine and ecu wiring still the problem.

Do you have an idea where i can find the JDM wiring, or the European wiring from?

Thats what i thought that using larger font would be easier to read through. Im planning to do the same to use an entire WRX engine, wiring and ECU as you said, what im not sure is the wiring to the Ecu what cables go to the Ecu for it to work are there any cables that i need to connect to the Ecu or any other wiring to the motor and Ecu.

I knew about caps not font size sorry. Well i im not sure about the European or American how do i know. All i know it comes staight from Japan and its right hand drive. For now im not worried about the brakes so much will come to that later in any case what do you advice about the brakes my main aim now is to get the wiring problem out first.

Not screaming my way of showing importance why do you say im screaming. Anyway Superdave hooked his ride up proper and it was a bit easier for him since his car was a turbo too. About the brakes I got that covered ill get the rear brakes from a turbo ea82 my rear brakes are drum I know the brakes won’t be so good but I am ready to take that chance. Only thing I wasn’t sure was the wiring, how to go about it the main problem is the wiring and my model is 1991 leone.

I understand it’s possible to swap an EA82 to a WRX motor that’s fine. What I am a little worried about is the ECU wiring or the entire motor wiring. This is what I want, a WRX motor in a Subaru Leone I understand it fits in what I am not sure is the wiring how will that be done can I get some diagrams or something to guide me though the wiring process. I did weld it believe me it was no joke first I added a piece of steal about 1 inch when I fitted it back it was too long so I decreased it by half an inch fitted it I lost fifth and reverse so that meant the I lost the angle damn any way this time I was little more clever should have thought of it at first I cut it again welded a bolt on 1 side and the other a nut so a can adjust oh and another nut to act as a lock nut then it was k apart from the adjustment finally I got it!!!

Finally got the short shift done its not all that but its way better then before thanks for the info.

Yes its caburated. And this is my 3rd engine im building up this tym i wanted to try out stuff, the 2nd engine i built I bored the engine put in over size Pistons, Pistons rings, valves which belong to a Legacy Rs (new from the shop) really makes a difference a lot of power only fuel consumptions has gone up which is bound to happen. So I should be in a position to know my engine just a matter of trying out new stuff

I get what your sayin. When there a races around i join in with my Ea82, others come in with theirs, wen they rev up like 3000 rpm n let go of the gas it backfires i dont know if im getting the write word for it, wen u ask they say we removed both cats n it started. i hv done dat to it was backfiring for a week then stopped. Blive me theses Ea82's r fast for their specs my be im using the wrong word may be its not backfire but there's this loud come back wen the gas is released some cars like the new wrx's flames comes out with loud bang especially wen braking n shifting.

Its being doing this 4 long i have changed the seals no leaks no dents "banjo bolt" this is something i hvnt checked hv a pic to be sure of. i got other tapped's opened them changed th springs n ball it relaxed for sometime like 3 days again its back but there this thing i dont get when the tapped's sound the car has power when it doesnt theres no power i got huge pipe at the back so when the tapped's sounds its loud but if the tapped does not sounds it turn to be silent. oh i even changed the O rings

What would you do to a Ea82 that continuously makes the tapped sound, oil pump changed, tapped's changed, serviced regularly, and still the sound comes n its very annoying what can be done.
