  1. Hybrids are a thing of the near future, wether it be gas / electric, hydrogen, or some other type. Yes they currently dont have much of a resale and the batteries are expensive to replace, but just like everything else, once there is enough out there the price will drop.
  2. thats the diff, i have the repair manual not the hvac book. thanks for the info
  3. these guys are right, brakes and rotors are suber easy. i did mine a couple of yrs ago and i had never messed with brakes on anything. just remember to put everything back. i forgot a clip on the left front and the pads chatter every now and then.
  4. Most manufacturers recomend changing the air filter atleast once a year if not more often.
  5. Josh, I already have the haynes manual, but I did not see anything. After reading some related posts it says aprox 6oz system total? Split between the compressor, dryer, evap. that sound right? Jim
  6. I took it off the car myself so I know it didnt sit around long. I read through the post legacy, but did not see any where on the amount of oil you used. both the 93 and 95 had little to no oil. I just bought a haynes manual and did not see anything about the oil amounts and it basically said to take it to a ac tech.
  7. thanks lagacy, thats all you can get around here anyway. I have already converted the hi & low prts and just have to wait for my mech to get back from vacation.
  8. I have a 93 legacy wagon 2.2, the clutch on the ac compressor locked up yrs ago and i recently have been given one off a 95. They are the same brand and bolt up identical. The only thing I see is that the 93 is r12 and the 95 is 134. Subaru, parts store, and bone yard all say that it cant be used. Is this true? Thanks Jim
  9. Hey guys, its been awhile since I needed your advice, but here goes. about 4 yrs ago the clutch on the ac pump froze up and knowing it was expensive to fix i just took the belt off. I have a 93 legacy wagon 2.2 with a zextel ac pump. I was recently given a pump (same brand) off a 95 legacy wagon. everywhere i call they tell me that the two yrs are different because the part #'s are different. There is only one difference that i found, one was r-12 and the other is r-134. I currently have it bolted in the car and am waiting for my machanic to get back from vaca to do a leak check. WILL IT WORK? Thanks, Jim
  10. thanks guys. With the holidays it looks like it will be after the first of the year before I can get it changed.
  11. I read trhough the related posts, I guess I am almost on the money with what everyone seems to be getting. +/- conditions and driving style. Where are the fuel filter(s) located? Thanks everyone. Jim
  12. I fogot to mention it is an auto. I have done everything but the oil and no improvements. A little worse now that its cold. Dont have a low fuel light that Iknow of Thanks.
  13. I did a search and could not find what I was looking for. I have a 93 Legacy wagon 25th edition 2.2 with 141,000 miles. I have never gotten more then 200 miles out of a tank of gas (mostly city driving) exept when I have run a constant 70-75 out on the highway and I can get better then 300. Any ideas on what I should be looking at or replacing? Jim
  14. Well my 93 Legacy 25th edition has the motorized shoulder belt. All I know 'bout the 92 is that it is suppose to be a Legacy 4 dr coupe or sedan (it has a trunk) and yes the running gear would be the drivetrain.
  15. how compatible the two years are. I have a 93 Legacy wagon and my freind has a 92 Legacy coupe. I was interested in the running gear.
  16. I did not know that. Will go out and do it. Thanks, you guys are awsome
  17. I finally got and replaced the temp sensor and just wanted to let you know alls well and a big thank you to everyone.

    Lifting a Subie

I can't find the name of the one that has a 3" lift on his. He has many posts on here and has personal pics. I believe he is running 28" on his. Someone who knows will be around.
  19. Thanks Josh, I guess I'm back to the store. You guys have been awsome. I have learned more from you guys then I have the local suby dealership. They could not tell me wich one it was. Thanks again Jim
  20. Ok I found the connectors. They are on the right side of the steering colomn in my car. After running I came up with 11, 21, 32, 34, and 11. My brother (a chevy mech suggested that I do the battery trick to clear the codes, and go for a drive, then check again.) I come up with just 21. The temp sensor. I went through napa and they gave me a brass colored single pole sensor. Is this the correct one or is it the one next to it with the big connector? Thanks
