Superglue the light switch to the on position.
When the car goes off, the lights go off...so you leave them on all the time. I am sure there is a way to bust open the little switch and wire them to be on always.

CCR engines seem to be very popular. Some people on the board have used them...maybe they'll chime in about them.
From what I have heard they provide great products.
If you don't want to spend that much, go to a junkyard and look for a cheap EJ22 to put in it.

From what I can tell doing a bit of research, any 1990 - 1994 from a Legacy will work for you.

OEM pads for my 96 Outback are really good. Long lasting, quite, and low dusting.
I am sure there are other good pads out there. I can go through a set of rotors and cheap pads in 10,000 miles...and the factory ones are much better than that.

do they have a 96 wrx. gooday i am fairley new here, doing an ej18 to ej20t manual transmission need clutch pedal, gearbox crossmember and flywheel...help me please..
No, they don't have any WRX...just some mid-90s Legacy, Outback, and Imprezas.

My goal is to get a new daily driver and replace the ej22 in my Outback with an eg33. I hope I can get the money together to do it.

my oil loses its golden yellow color real quick when its in the engine.
Are you always adding a lot of oil?

So my waterpump is leaking some coolant. It might have been doing this for a long time, because it seems every few months i've been putting some coolant in the reserve tank...but I havn't added any since January. I park in gravel whereever I go (work, my house, my parents, etc) so i'd really have no way to know it was leaking.
Anyways, I was on my way to work, it started to overheat (got to about 3/4 on the temp. gauge) I added water and it didn't happen again. I got home, looked around, and its leaking from the waterpump area.
I made an apointment at the dealer for new timing belt, waterpump, seals, etc.
My questions are:
-How much leaks out from the waterpump? Enough to stop driving the car competley? I took it for a drive and it didn't overheat when I keep coolant in the reserve tank.
-As long as I have coolant with me in the car and pull over at the first sign that its getting to warm, could I drive it?
-Would the coolant leaking get on the timing belt and cause it any problems?
Thanks for any input. I would only need to drive it to work a few times when my wife needs her car.

The knock sensor on my 2.2l was $20 or so at Autozone or Advance Auto Parts. Takes about a minute to do as long as you spray down the bolt holding it down with some WD40 or something.

It took about 20 minutes to do in my EJ22. Pull out the washer fluid tank and get a 6 inch extention and it is as easy as can be

Yeah...I am always looking for a brushguard or safari bar for my Outback that I can attatch some lights to.
I'd really like to put some lights on the front bar of my roof rack.

I just want two driving lamps...i was thinking about attatching them the grill, but am afraid they'd shake and move a lot.

Maybe I am bit behind the times but I was reading through SOA's website tonight and found out that the 2006 GT wagon only comes with an automatic. Anyone else bummed about this?
Does the sedan come with a manual?

If I were you'd i'd probably go for the Civic and get a used Subaru for the snow and whatnot...but thats just me.
I am sure someone will tell you the pros and cons of each. Good luck.

There is a small Subaru dealer near me. I don't know if i'd buy a car from them (small selection) but they are really nice and the parts and service dept. do a good job and they don't charge a whole lot.

I was wondering if I could rig up some driving lamps I just bought to come on only when my high beams are on.
So my question is, the plug that powers the normal headlight bulbs, are one of those wires only powered when the high beams are on, and I can splice into it for the power of my driving lamps?
Does this make sence? Any better way to do it?
