  1. 5) even the 2WDs do better in poor weather than a lot of others' 4WDs Thank you, Thats why i love my Suby...its 2WD, but i still go everywhere with it, and it doesn't get stuck...and if it does?? its so light i can almost push it out.. Also, i love how i can fly into a gravel parking lot, throw it sideways and correct it like nothing....you cant do that with some honda with a body kit...lol I will love it even more when the ER27 finds its way into my engine bay.. -Bill
  2. Already doing that...just bought another Loyale w/ a fivespeed for 300... bill Going in, in january!
  3. Well, i was thinking of putting a weber on...its so gutless, but i don't want to do an EJ swap...i don't have the time (college full time) and i don't have the space... So it would only make things worse... Would EJ18 Cam shafts fit?? Is my engine a Dual or single?? Its an EA82 FI....Its a 93 from a Loyale, and its FWD auto... Thanks, Bill
  4. Hey, I was just wondering, how hard would it be to carburate my engine? I have an EA82... Bill
  5. I must have overfilled it... I couldn't find anything. It does leak for sure, but not enough to dump out as it did...still...i don't remember seeing it come out where the dipstick goes in, or around the funnel. Very weird. Anyway, i'am getting a 5 speed tranny...so its all good...any posts on tranny conversions?? Thanks, Bill
  6. My car isn't carburated, but i have similar problems in the morning. I have found that if i hold the gas to about 2500 rpm, instead of what its chocked at, it seems to get it warmed up quick and drives fine, but if i just leave it idling wheres its choked at, it takes for ever and it is REALLY gutless.. With an automatic transmission, it wont shift well either until its warmed up. Especially when turning a corner...at least this is what my car does...
  7. That is INSANELY clean..i looked at so many Loyales, before buying, but none were that clean. Mines really clean on the outside, but she leaks oil/tranny fluid so the engine compartment isn't pretty...lol good find...go buy a lottery ticket with that much luck!
  8. Hey, Found another Subaru Loyale for sale. This one though, is 4WD and a wagon. I'am actually buying so i can snag the wheels, and help out a friend who is really in need of a car. Shes cheap like $700...when hes done with it, then i will do some wild experiment like drop in an EJ..lol.. Its in pretty good condition besides a small dent in the rear hatch...other than that not bad. Its unfortunetly a slugamatic.. -Bill
  9. Anyone played in the snow the last week?? I know i was...sorry i don't have any pics, but if anyone does..show us... -Bill
  10. A rally driver friend of mine is swapping engines out of his impreza 1.8 liter rally car. He has an engine, and tranny for me. I don't want to use the tranny in my car becuase its an automatic, and its weak. I've already replaced it once. How hard will it be to put in my car??
  11. Dude, my subaru is Front WD, and i was having fun in the snow. I was in so many parking lots completly sideways, unfortunetly the ebrake is in the front, but it doesn't matter cuase I just had to throw the car right, and i drifted for ever! I was suprised, car didn't plow at all...even with the engine sitting the way it is...
  12. Yah, when I got my Loyale, I bought it from some old people. The car was in good shape, but no one had ever rodded on it. I took care of that issue, and in a week or so, i could feel the power difference. Also, your cats are probably broken up, its best to hollow those out...it will plug things up. I cut off my muffler and welded on a strait pipe and i could feel a little difference. As well as actually here my EA82. -Bill
  13. Well my friend has an EA81, the timing chain broke, and he says he will sell it to me. Its the turbo, and has all the nice stuff mine doesn't have like; a five speed tranny, 4WD, and air ride. But most importantly i want the turbo...will it swap over to mine easily?? -Bill
  14. Oh man, i'am way busy...i will check as soon as i can...right now i've got just enough time to keep her full...on saturday I will check it though...i don't have to do anything that day, so i'll let you know...(if this post isn't way down at the bottom...haha) -Thanks for the help, -Bill
  15. Ok, i really don't have any clarification on this.. Just what exactly can i do to my engine... Its not the turbo, just the plain version...(90hp) Runs great, only 159,000 miles...so what would be a good "first mod" I already hollowed out my cat, and strait piped it..it helped a little, but I didn't notice any major changes except it doesn't get as good of gas mileage now..(lol) I'am really lost on this...if i can upgrade this engine, i would rather do that than take the EJ18.. By the way...the EJ18 I may still be getting is from the Wild Irish Racing Impreza. It was in with all the pictures on the site... They are swaping for open class.. -Thanks, Bill
  16. You have a TIG machine?? I'am taking welding at the college right now, and i use a miller TIG machine, i've been thinking about getting one...its clean, its strong, and its easy.. Think i should get the tig, or go for MIG?? Sorry for getting off track guys, -Bill
  17. Yep, Used to have a Buick Regal...altenator was fine...put in a 400 watt amp with two square kicker L7's...haha-next day...dead as a door nail... People say that this doesn't have to do with the altenator, but i disagree.. When I got my Loyale, the stereo didn't work, so i never used it...i drove it like this for a few weeks...when i finally replaced the radio with CD, the altenator died the next day... -Bill
  18. Mines an EA82...not just your car... those clocks are funky
  19. Hey, if your clock works, I will take it...mine flashes on and off...its rather annoying...and it doesn't hold the time... let me know... -Bill
  20. Hi, Looking for some different wheels, I saw plenty that were posted, but no links to purchase them...etc. Anyone have any wheels for sale?? Thanks, -Bill
  21. Hey, I just recently had the tranny changed in my Loyale (As i didn't have the time to do it myself) It was a used tranny, but it is in good condition (Shifts well..etc.) It seems to be leaking a large amount of tranny fluid, it must be a seal...when i refill it, i get to about a qaurt and 1/2 and it starts dumping out onto the ground....i can't locate where its coming from...unfortunetly i don't have a shop repair manual, so i haven't been able to come up with an idea of where its leaking from.... I don't like the automatic...hopefully will be converting to a 5 spd...(no overdrive, 4 grand at 70 mph-haha) Thanks, Bill
  22. I live in Washington.... I will put a pic on of my car in a while... -Bill
  23. Hi, I had no clue that this much information existed on the internet for a 93' Subaru Loyale Sedan. I bought this car for rallying...its FrWD (rally america requires front wheel drive for begginners.) I was going to attempt an engine swap from a 1.8 liter Impreza, but it looks as if it may be possible to push a little power out of this engine. (EA82) Anyone know any tips to help? This engine is rather boggy. Or should i take the 1.8 liter? The 1.8 is coming from some friends who run in like group 2 or something and are moving to open class...(My engine is a 1.8, but its 20 hp shy of the impreza 1.8) Specs: -111,000 miles -Oil changed every race -Owner knows everyone whos ever owned this car/engine -Thanks, Bill
