  1. I have a check engine light? lol I have never seen it! Its not on when the car is running. Maybe my check engine light bulb is burnt out.. lol This car has not been treated good. I change the oil on it every 10k most the time. All I have ever done to it is chance the timing belts and some gaskets while I was in there. First time ever on a tow truck in its life was yesterday! The car is truely AMASING! Ill let you guys know what I find as far vacume lines!
  2. Ill look over all of my vacume lines tomorrow and let you guys know! I was dinking around a lot so i very well could of bumped one off! What is the CEL? Thanks for the advice guys!
  3. Ok so I have a 1992 Loyale non turbo with the 5spd. She has 389k and some change on her. Today I was going down the freeway and she died on me. Opened the hood everything looked fine. I pulled the fuel filter and had plenty of fuel. threw some starting fluid down here still nothing. Pulled the cap and there was what I thought was all my problems! There was a screw laying in the bottom of the distributor and the rotor was just spinning there... So I put the screw back in and cap back on and all and turned the key and she fired right up! Then died 3 seconds later... She will start right up every time I turn the key and then dies right after.... I was thinking maybe a clogged fuel line or something between the filter and the throttle body... Should I be able to blow air through that line or not? Any advice on this matter would be very greatly appreciated! Thank you guys very much! I hope your help get her back on the road so I can get her to 400K+
  4. Do you know what it takes to fix it? its annoying i just want to fix it... lol
  5. No its dead on..... Had a retired subaru mechanic look at it when i did it and said it was perfect. The car did this before the timing belts were done to. And no it has never dieseled or anything.
  6. Well I just replaced all the vacume lines. Before that nothin worked and it idled very low and like crap especially when it was cold thats all better now! Now it idles fine when cold and every now and then when hot. I have no idea what my oil pressure is like the gauge broke about 200k ago lol! I know the oil pump as well as most everything on the car is all original! I bought the car from my great aunt and she didnt even change the oil! lol Its a fule injected car so no carb adjustments.... Do you think sea foam could really help that out much? it does it i think mostly when the ac is off it has not been warm enough around here to use the ac for some time now. I'll have to try it out. But i know it does it when the ac is off.... I know i played with the sensor thingy on top of the ac compressor when i changed my belts and timing belts could that have anything to do with it? I'll go look over my vacume lines to be sure but any other advice would be GREAT! Thanks!
  7. So I have a 92 loyale wagon that I love to death! 377k miles and still going strong! I just fixed everything on it and she is still running like a champ! Had to fix the AC and a vacuum leak that was not allowing my 4WD or defrost or anything to work but now that everything works sometimes when I come to a light it will idle very rough from about 500-1000 jump pretty fast! Very annoying sometimes! Any ideas as to what that could be and how to fix it? Any advice or help would be very much appreciated! Thanks! Erik,
  8. Whats even better is when your out wheelin and you drive past a big ford truck stuck and you ask him if he needs a tow and he laughs at you then you hook it up to your subaru and pull his rump roast out and watch the look on everyones faces! Keep the subaru man! you wont find a better car!
  9. I have looked all over for ones for my subaru and have had no luck finding one. I run spacers on my 98 cheroke with the 4.0 and my 99 wrangler with the 4.0 and noticed a great increas in milage and power! on some engines they are worth it! and the tornado effect (Helix-bore) does not create turbulence it atomises the air molecules and increases combustion efficiency. anyone who takes a college physics class will learn the basic principal of how it works. So if anyone finds one for a WRX or a EA82 let me know!
  10. Hey my car up till about a year ago had the "Hill Assist" feature and it kicked rump roast and then it stoped working one day and no clue why.... What controlls it and what should i check on to see what the deal is with it.
  11. Just found out te Saab is $121.11 a month cheaper to insure! im a "high risk driver" and the WRX badge jacks it way up for me! Saab station wagon they like the ring of lol! Very close in price as well so makes no sense to go with the subaru for me atleats!
  12. Yeah its all subaru all the way i just contacted the subaru dealership and saab dealer and the saab dealer says when they service them they order the parts from subaru. I have always had good luck with saabs and subarus so why not get a "SABARU" Already have the plate reserved! my main thing is cheap and easy ways to get some extra power and better the cornering and all.
  13. The waranty is covered at any subaru or gm dealer so not worried about that. i also want the saab because there will be a lot less of them! also i like the looks of the fronts of them a lot better the new wrx's are ugly up front! they are not much more money either and i want to do a lil somthin to it nothin to much just love to hear the turbo and feel a lil extra kick in the rump roast!
  14. Ok so plan is to buy an 06 Saab 92X forst part of the year.... to my understanding it is a WRX wagon with nothing different other than the grill and saab badge am i corect on that? also what mods can be done cheap and easy that i will notice on this thing to get better mialage and power? im going to be getting the areo one so it will have the 2.0 turbo in her. would puting a STI hood scoop on and a larger blow-off valve help much or what? last turbo i had was a 03 S4 bi-turbo and thats all i did to it was larger dump offs and it made a big change! same way with the subaru?
  15. ok so i can put this ************ anywhere? gas, oil, brakes, what else? i can get the ************ for like 3 bucks a bottle mu cost so i think i might try it out! is it cool to put a whole bottle in and run it for 5000 highway miles like i normally do between oil changes or should i run it for a shorter amount of time? i dont want to mess anything up! my car hs 347000 on her now so i dont want to put anything on her thats to harsh!
  16. What you do is you put the hose and bottle over the bleeder then you go pump the breakes up till firm or 5-7 times then you turn the bleeder slowly till there is no more air bubbles in the line and you do that on all 4 wheels. you should not get more than a half bottle of fluid from all 4 wheels. just pump them and bleed the air out. the reason they are worse for you now is you took out half the brake fluid and probably allowed more air to get back in by opening the bleeders to far. doesnt take much...
  17. Its been doin this for about 4 years.... should i still test it and all?
  18. Whats this seafoam stuff i keep hearin about? i have never seen the stuf or heard about it till i startin snoopon randdom posts!
  19. Dont know about quality but i can get ya the factory subaru ones at cost... i normally have better luck with the factory parts rather then autozone or carqrap lol
  20. Find yourself a friend with a welder or and ma and pop exhaust shop that wont charge ya out the rump roast like our good frinds down at minakee or however you spell it and have them A. weld it together B. throw a new pipe on or C. just drive it to portland i got a welder ill fix it for ya for free lol 5-10 bucks should be more than enough to get her all fixed up!
  21. Hey there fellow subie owner! im not a subie master but have one of my own and have ran it to and had to fix a few things on it! i see your in portland so if ya need a heloing hand some day hit me up! Also if you need parts hit me up no use in payin full price i can get em for ya at cost just about anywhere! Im a mechanic and auto broker so i have accounts all over town! hope all is well with your subaru!
  22. Ok maybe this is a dumb question but i have to make sure this is normal because my subaru is the onyl car i have that does this....the higher the RPM's the brighter my lights get..... Strange or normal? just wondering... also it seems like over the last few months my head lights have got super dim! i have changed the bulbs and all and they are still super dim! any ideas? oh and anyone got a left (passanger) side head light for a 92 Loyale layin around for cheap?
  23. Well i got it up and going!!! Thanks to toms help and awesmoeness we got it runnin like a top in about 5 hours flat...... pretty easy change didnt run in to to much hard stuff but it was nice to have tom ther ebecause there was a lot of little things that i would of never figured out!!!!
