  1. HA, had a stupid idea, rig up an LM555 as a monostable one-shot if youre good with electronics and attach it to the start position on the ignition key, then use a relay or nice big transistor and tap into the door lock switch. Haha, I know thats a rather out there solution, and its a lot more trouble then its worth, but it would do the trick. Just make sure to use the relay and the lm555, otherwise it could backfeed, or get stuck and keep locking the doors.
  2. In my 99OBW its shoved way up under the dash, pretty much directly under the steering colum. Its a prety small unmarked box. Easiest way to find it is try to trace the wire coming through the firewall for the speaker, should weave its way up there. As for any information other then that on the alarm, youve got me. Hope thats some help. Oh, btw, yes you can see it and get to it without taking off the bottom plastic dash thing.
  3. The sending units have a sort of open rehostat for each floater. I've seen a few times that the contacts on them wear off causing an open circuit. Pull the sending units out of the tank and take a look. Its possible theyre just dirtied up and can be cleaned with some alcohol. Also, have you had it down to where the 'E' light should be on? My guess is that will still work, its on a seperate circuit.
  4. My old '90 Leg had a bad fuel gauge for a few years actually, would always show up as empty. I finally decided to take a crack at it so I pulled it out, which is quite simple. What I found was the little ceramic board with the potentiometer contacts on it had worn off completely, this happened on both units. Simple trip to a junkyard and I replaced the boards, but the E light still worked, it was on its own system. For anyone who is concernd about a bad gauge, just run to a yard and spend a few bucks on the parts. You can either 'carefully!' solder the new board in, or just replace the unit.
