  1. Unfortunatly during the 1,500mile run the bine barrons decided to soke the air filter and kill the maf. Awile later turning into a parking lot it snapped the LR axle right at the shaft. Continuing the trip in RWD it eventually snapped the RR axle destroying the inner CV joint and dropping the axle shaft out. So we finnished the trip in FWD. Thank god we had the LSD in the front, there waqs still alot of snow roads to finnish during the run. To see some more highlights please check out the web site in the photos.
  2. Lol, funny you should mention that. Was at the pine barons this weekend with the 48hrs. crew.
  3. Awsome coupe, brilliant vision! Reminds me of the old rally car pics. Nice SVX in the background too.
  4. Well, one more pic, playing on a snow bank.
  5. Yes so glad we welded the rearend right befor this big snow storm. We drove all over the place last night in RWD, drifting every corner (my girlfreind says it's like her 240, but the snow version:grin: ) Only time we had to put it in 4WD was when i ran into a 3ft snow bank from a plow. Clicked it in 4 wheel and srove right through, man i love this thing! I will try to get some more pics this weekend, seems all the other wheeling we,ve done is at night and my camera sucks at night shots.
  6. So went out and beat the hell out of it last Sat. All good untill my girlfreind took it out Monday. She was driving around and then SNAP! BANG! and the car stopped moving and the rear drive shaft was spinning freely. So she tossed it in 4wd and drve around most of the week in FWD. So we took it to the shop last night to investigate the problem. Turns out it stripped all the teeth off the spider gears in the rear end, pretty sick! So what do you do with a rearend with shredded spiders?......thats right, you fill it with weld. So now the wagon is rocking a welded rearend, it shouldn't be to bad as it has a tendancy to lift the weight off the inside tire on every turn anyway so there is not to much stress on it. Tommorow night we are gonna install an LSD in the front end, and then this thing should be damn near unstoppable.
  7. Sweet! Reminds me why i need to get of my butt and get out there today.
  8. Not bad, rolls along at 85MPH untill you get to the hills. Just needs a little more in the power department. we're thinking a high compression 2.5 hybrid or maybe a 3.0 swap.
  9. So anyone in the CT. area want to go wheeling? We plan on going back out there on Sunday!
  10. Hahaha, would kinda defeat the purpose wouldn't it?
  11. Haha, permission? Um...well.... i just didnt think they would care. I mean it's only an old crownvic right? Uh, 33's on it now with room for 35"s when we can afford some new wheels.
  12. eh....better pics
  13. Some fun at work yeterday.
  14. Thanks man. Deffinatly not scared to wheel it, thats what it was built for. Dont really have a full right-up yet. Kinda wanted to see how it held up before giving anyone else bad advice. But i can now say it works very well, and it's still not finnished yet. This was just "light" off roading near my house on very familiar trails. We still need to get skid plates on it and load it up with recovery gear and then we hit the good stuff! I will get some more detailed pics of the undercarriage the suspension when get it back in the shop this week to tie up some loose ends.
  15. Finally road legal we got to take it to some local trails today and get some pics. Enjoy.
  16. Sorry only one new pic so far. New bumper in the makeing.
  17. Not really, you just need to take off the rear section of the tranny and pull the diff out. Take it apart and weld the internals together. Not bad if you've ever had any tranny apart?
  18. Legacy 5speed with welded center diff and a Sammy T-case.
  19. Ah yes, you be glad to know it's almost done. Got the T-case in, all the drive shafts made. Been working on a few little thinks lately like cleaning up the brakes from sitting almost two years (sticky sliders) and still got to aline it and make the real bumpers and skid plates. We plan on trying to get it registred this week so we can start driving it around and finding some off-road testing grounds. Will get up some new pics as soon as i can afford some batteries for my camera.
  20. Gotta say i don't hate the new STi, it has bulging fenders like it's suppost to, sure they look a bit like a Focus but at least it has them. The new WRX is a much smoother rideing car, i suspect the new suspension design has alot to do with it as does the full frame windows and im sure they stiffend the chassis even more. Also the power comes on alot better than any other year WRX i've driven, you dont have to keep it above 3K rpms all the time incase you need to move quick (more tourq) Not overall crazy about it but it is a better car, and it's growing on me alot faster than the last style did. We'll see if any companies make non rice tail lights for the hatch.
