  1. my subi is a 94 loyale ea82. if I broke the timing belt, would I have any further damage or is it only replacing the timing belts? cheers
  2. the solenoid was re-adjusted but it seems like it hasn't got the power to move the throttle linkage. it is a vacum solenoid. i looked for air leaks but couldn't find any.
  3. does the p/s rack from an ea81 will fit onto an ea82?
  4. since I swapped to the weber, my a/c idler (or whatever it is) is not working. did anyone else experienced the same problem?
  5. guys, there is no need for an argument. if someone wants to post an answer he is welcome to do so and if someone's answer is " do a search" its fine too. I appreciate any reply.
  6. did a search. lots of info. cheers
  7. to all the weber people. do you have dieseling effect when turning off the motor? and how to get rid of it?
  8. well, I don't have EGR. mine is an ea82 1994. maybe they don't require it in OZ. so do you know what is that black plastic box right next to the distreibuter and that thing it's conected to right under it?
  9. can someone describe where the EGr located in the ea82?
  10. under your stock carby you had a black insulating plate which had gaskets on each side of it. it got a hole in it where the coolant outlet is sticking out a bit. if you don't use this plate your adapter is not going to sit flat on the manifold. what i did is, I bent that coolant outlet so it doesn't stick out and filled the hole on the insulation plate with epoxy, then had new gaskets on each side of it. I also filled the coolant hole with epoxy and disconnected the coolant hose to it. good luck.
  11. i did it!!! I disconnected all the pcv hoses and drove the car few km. the car stopped smoking, then I cleaned all the hoses with CRC carby cleaner and pushed some of that scotch brite in it. reconnected it all and the car is not smoking:lol: now, what is the black plastic box right next to the distributer which connects to the pcv system? it was full with oil. and is that the EGR under it? thanks for all the tips guys
  12. that was fresh oil driping but i'm not sure it actually got into the carby or the pvc valve. so if I disconect the pcv hoses, is that gona stop the smoke? after how long? can some one tell me if it's got anything todo with the weber swap? how can you tell between white smoke caused by water and white smoke caused by oil?
  13. well, I have disconected the hose from the pcv valve to eliminate this problem but the white smoke kept coming out...even after 8 km. and why would ther be any oil in the pcv hose in the first place. and by the way it's a weber carby I just installed
  14. I recently posted a thread about white smoke from exhost. any way, I found some oil in the pcv hose and a new oil leak from head gasket. is that mean I need to do the head gasket or maybe even more?
  15. today I removed the carbi and re-sealed the gasket even though I don;t think it leaked, also removed the coolant tube that goes into the intake manifold. removed and checked the pcv valve and checked the oil for water and the water for oil. couldn't see anything wrong and still white smoke. I noticed a new oil leak from the Left head gasket... what do you think?
  16. so, no one else has got ideas? I'm going to remove the carbi and see if there was any coolent leak into the intake manifold.
  17. no, I didn't touch the manifold gaskets and I blocked the coolent hole with epoxy
  18. just finished my weber swap this morning. working well but heavy white smoke from exhaust and diesel sound when motor turned off. could it be due to wrong installation of pcv hoses?EGR? coolant leaking to carbi or just bad motor. also have a rattling ping sound which I had for a while on and off but now it got worse.
  19. my adapter kit came only with one set of studs so I didn't really have the option. I didn't use the threadlocker though... I finished installing the weber this morning and took the car for a ride. the motor started straight away but soon realized I get lots of white smoke at the back:confused: . do you think it's got to do with wrong installation, coolant leak or just bad luck with the motor?
  20. so what did you do then? just out of interest. all ready taped mine.
  21. I prefer not to. just too many tubes to connect...why?
  22. all right, managed to remove the studs from the manifold. I decided to go with a new adapter so ordered Redline from the local Auto parts. before that I made sure it comes with the right studs but of course when I got the adapter it wasn't. I was told I had to tap the manifold out. be good if they told me before. so, for all of you ordering redline adapter, you will have to tap your manifold. now, what is the best way to stop the adapter to get corroded. is it possible to block that coolant hole with epoxy?
  23. I just got hold of weber + addaptor from a wrecking subaru ea82 engine. I was going to install it on my car and realize the bolts on my intake manifold are smaller in diameter to the bolts on the other engines manifold. how do I change these bolts or do I get a new adaptor with the right bolts? how do I remove the original shorter bolts from the manifold?
