  1. Just so folks can see what I am dealing with, I have added interior shots of my brat to the photo gallery. At least the seats are in very good shape.
  2. Thanks, those will help at least on some of the pieces, allready I can see I was envisioning the D/R part upside down
  3. I am behind McCullen park, the old airbase. And yep it was on craigslist for all of a couple hours before I jumped on it. Thanks for the pics, if you can get me those, you'll be a lifesaver..at least a time saver. Yes, a trip to PnP is in my future, probably a very wet trip if I know my luck.
  4. I just purchased a 1987 Brat with a great body and rebuilt motor with about 5 mins of driving. The issue is that it needs a tranny, which I am looking into the 5spd swap, and the interior is literally in pieces. I need pics, if someone has them of what the interior/dash of a 1987 Brat should look like. The console and everything under the steering wheel needs to be put back, as well as the door panels. All I need are some good pics so that I can tell what goes were, and if possible which screws are used as everything was just laying on the floorboards. Thanks in advance!
  5. Well I now have my dream project. I aquired a 1987 Brat over the weekend, now I get the fun of finsihing the restoration someone before me started. The body is very clean, no rust at all. The only big-ish issue is that I need to get my hands on a transmission, probly going with a 5spd and all that entails. I got lucky, the motor in the Brat was re-conditioned just before the transmission went out, and has all of about 5 minutes of runtime on it. So Im going to wait abit untill the 2.0/2.5 swap Here are a couple pics of it, yes I didnt get it home till midnight so they are abit dark. Edited: Changed where pics are located. Check my photo gallary for pics please.
  6. Okay I know this is abit of an old Post, but did you get the Brat? I was looking at that earlier but the lein thing made me shy away, esp as the DMV keep saying, if he hasn't got a title, you could be tossing your money away should the real owner ever show up..
  7. Okay I am looking into a 84 Brat with a blown engine. I would like to know other then the EA81 and EA82 which other engines will fit in the engine bay without alot of cutting or welding. I would love something with more horsepower and torque then the default EA81.
  8. Looks good, but where is page 4?
  9. If your thinking of the one in Santa Rosa, then yes thats the one, I happen to be about a hour away from there in Sacramento.
  10. I am going to be looking at a 1984 Turbo, AT Brat, and would like to know what are the known trouble spots on it. Anything would help such as common rust spots, any known issues with suspension or interior. I know that the EA81T arent always the best of engines, and this one does appear to have at least a blown gasket as there is antifreeze in the tailpipe, but the oil is suppose to be good. That does not bother me mucha s I plan on doing a tranny and engine swap once I am sure the body, suspension and drivetrain are good. Any help would be great, and yes I have tried looking through the board for any known issues. The only thing I have seen is the issue with the turbo engines overheating.
