Steering knuckles -- letters/numbers on them -- meaning?
I'm back at work finally. I can't do too much over the weekend, since I don't have access to my work computer remotely, which has the parts program which I use to determine part numbers, etc. SOA4524106R is the number for the right side (reman.) SOA4524107R is the number for the left side (reman.) I'm welcoming you to come to my home to inspect some off a parts car, and bring your others for comparison, and we can work on a price, etc. I have an EA82 based parts car, which is in dire need of parting out to help fund the repair of the EA82T resealing the engine, and getting it on the road. It isn't too far to drive, now is it?

Plastiguage, main bearing oil clearances, and holy @#$ - look at this cam!?
That's what Crawford Performance does... ...and they have the "bobblehead" design pistons. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showpost.php?p=12512810&postcount=13

1987 GL-10 Turbo AWD Wagon
So, do you have the in with that couple who's giving theirs away? The one in San Rafael who hasn't returned my emails? I think I know where your line is in these waters...and would love to help out any way I can. I'm in the process of evaluating and going through an '86 version of the one you're looking at. As a Parts specialist at a local Subaru dealership, I can tell you it's not always the easiest getting parts, but I'm surprised by how cheap they are.

Any Subaru Junkyards in Texas?
Google of "Texas Auto Recyclers" (they don't like the word "junkyards"): http://www.usedpartscentral.com/search_texas.htm http://car-part.com/Directory/Recyclers/Online/USA/tx.htm Hope this helps.

ea82 short block
How much are you willing to spend? I have an EA82, in a running car, which has the air filter on the top (carb, I'm guessing)...I'll upload video of it running in the car if you're interested... The car's got a shot clutch/transmission, so it's not driving... Shipping might be expensive, but you could take as much of the motor as you want (except the alternator, which I need)...and I'll be happy to pallet that thing up and ship.

Cooling fans...normal??
Whachoo be doin' lookin' in my car, Welder?? I took out a redneck security system, which involved a round key which activated a solenoid, which slid a hood latch in place to lock the hood down. There's lamp cord in the engine bay, a melted wire or two, but no blown fuses that I can see...

Cooling fans...normal??
I appreciate the responses. I'd like to make this as stock as I can (minus the A/C), and since I work in a dealership parts dept., I can try to make this happen.

Cooling fans...normal??
I recently picked up my s/nsake for $200 and drove it home. One thing that I've noticed is that whenever the key is in the acc. position, that the fan/fans come on. Is this normal, or is this some sort of rigged contraption that I need to find/get rid of? I'm working on restoring this from scratch, and sealing the motor, etc. is part of the plan. I'm also taking out the entire a/c system (not really needed), so some help on this fan issue would be appreciated.

Finally washed my new car
That's a beautiful example of a GL-10 Turbo. I just picked one up for $200, and it was destined for the junkyard had we not bought her. FWD, '86 model. Here's the family photo.
