  1. Well, he was not happy, but not my fault. I scored a 86 XT Turbo 5-SPD 4WD, for $356, over the weekend. He had it listed on e-bay. He did not spell Subaru correctly, not even sure how I found it. The body work is all ready done and primed. He did not have a reserve. So I got it. Drove it home from Spokane. He tried to cancel the bid, but e-bay would not let him. So moral of the story....okay two morals....1) if you list something on e-bay and want a so much for it put reserve on it, 2) Who, cares, I got a deal. So now, must decide which of the two is going to be the parts car and the driver, both run.
  2. Nothing like showing the "boys" at work what a Roo..can do.
  3. Most of them do not know their head from a hole in the ground. I had one try and tell me that my wiper switch, was on the steering column. I asked him if he was new?
  4. Great improvement....looks good. Now if they were only YELLOW. Just kidding.
  5. Yeah, yeah, you are picking on the "old man". And Rooinater's Dad is very "PROUD" of him too, and not just for serving in the Corps. He turned out to be a great guy, too.
  6. Mine, does the same thing. I figured it was all the "stop leak" put in by the previous owner. I had the radiator fixed. Have been running it for 4 years with out a lot of heat. Putting in a new core and rad. this summer.
  7. Also, make sure you have a new o-ring for the tube, off the water pump. That is were mine was really leaking. The Anti-freeze works for lube, when reinstalling.
  8. Yeah, yeah, may do that soon, but right not the wagon is the daily driver, have to wait till the XT is up and running...
  9. My son's 80 EA81 does not do that, and I am forever telling him to turn off his lights, not sure if that is common to the EA81's of from him doing all the stuff he has done to it.
  10. Yep, they should also work with the key all the way on, and the motor not running, but otherwise that is it, mine are on all the time, just turn it on and go. Never have to worry about leaving them on......I drive with my lights on all the time extra safety.
  11. My Red Wagon is "OLD SPEED", in direct conflict with all the honda's "Nue Speed", hardware.
  12. Great job, I have to do mine, so this will help a lot. THANKS
  13. I just got a 87 XT GL-10 Turbo, First and formost I need to work on the suspension....it is "Air" The left side has some lift to it and the right front, does too. RR has none, I have gone through the threads and I am going to check this out and try and fix it with some help, from my electrical savy buddy. But, if this does not work, can I use a 88 wagon non adjustable coil overs, on this 87? Front and rear? Any spare parts out there for sale? Any other help or suggestions would be appreciated.
  14. The blower resistor is located under the passenger dash, next to the fan. It is installed with 2 screws.(which are not a problem to remove, but tricky to put back in) and has a wire connector, also one bolt is common to the fan itself. Part number for a 86 wagon, which should be the same, for a 85, is: 72083GA070 Done this one a couple of times, on several Roo's.
  15. Hi, guys, I went and did it, bought a 87 XT turbo, AWD... GL-10. And yes it has (not working of course) air suspension. I guess, after reading through the doing a search on the board the best, well, at least cheapest is to switch to the coil over. Which is going to be cheap since I have the parts. Engine and tranny sound good, and has the usual cam seal leaks. So, I am looking for info....does it handle well, with the coil over from a wagon, or should I just get new struts and springs. Also I am looking for some interior trim pieces, like the cover for the top of the steering column. And there is no stereo, or speakers, actually large gapping holes are present. Will have to look in to this too. Any suggestions Thanks, p.s. Rooinator heads back to Yuma tomorrow.
  16. Thanks guy, he sent me a link and I have e-mailed him off a request. Wait and see.
  17. I have seen the roof rack, I want. By TWB Subaru Fabrications. But cannot find a way to get a hold of them. Want the version 1. Anyone able to help me out here.
  18. 11:30AM Friday Jared (Rooinator) is in the mountians between Yuma and San Diego. He has blown a radiator hose, and it is being held together with duct tape. Has something else going wrong, but, when he called in the middle of the night, and woke me up, I can't remember. RainbowRoo......Jared's Dad
